I also have a machine (VIA chipset) which had random crash/core dump under
windows or linux (I have 2 identical machines, the other one works fine).
Remplacing the 32Mo DIMM with 2*16Mo EDO solved the problem.
This 32Mo DIMM works fine on an ASUS motherboard ...

Isn't PC hardware funny ? :)
