You didn't specify which version of NetBSD this occured with, though
the message would tend to indicate 1.3.x or earlier.
Assuming you transcribed it correctly, that message translates to
`FOCUS SERVO FAILED' according to the SCSI 2 spec, which honestly
doesn't sound like an OS issue.
