  To recap:

  Hardware Compaq LTE5280 with TFT 800x600 display driven by a clgd7543.
	(120Mhz Pentium, 16Mb ram, 1.3Gb disk)

  Running 1.3I with wscons.

  Symptom: XF86_SVGA crashes just prior to actually accepting connections.
  Workaround: install the aperature driver. Works fine now!

  Versions: 3.3.2, 3.3.3, and 3.3.3.1.
