I've got two 4-port TULIP cards, and they both exhibit the same weird
behavior:  I can ifconfig the first interface on each card (de0 or
de4), and bring it up, and it works just fine.  But the other three
hang the machine when I try to configure them.  It doesn't respond to
CTRL+ALT+ESC, for example.

All eight TULIP chips are genuine digital chips, which say "21140-AF"
on them.

Does anybody have any ideas on what I can try to get this working?
I'm perfectly willing to take a little bit of time to work on
debugging this.
