	To clarify this further:

	I have found two cards, both Cogent EM110 TX PCI, both using the
	21140-AC chip. The boards even look virtually identical.

	The only difference is one has a 10base2 connector (and associated
	support chips), and the other does not. The one with the 10base2
	connector works.

	The difference in dmesg from the two cards (all under 1.3I
	snapshot, same problems happen under 1.3.2)

--- msgbuf.bad
+++ msgbuf.ok
 de0 at pci1 dev 9 function 0
 de0: interrupting at irq 11
 de0: Cogent 21140A [10-100Mb/s] pass 2.0
-de0: address 00:00:92:96:39:cb
-de0: enabling 10baseT port
+de0: address 00:00:92:9b:2c:d2

	Similarly the difference in ifconfig -m:

--- ifconfig.bad
+++ ifconfig.ok
 de0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
-       address: 00:00:92:96:39:cb
+       address: 00:00:92:9b:2c:d2
        media: Ethernet 10baseT
        status: active
        supported Ethernet media:
+               media autoselect
                media 100baseTX mediaopt full-duplex
                media 100baseTX
+               media 10base2
                media 10baseT mediaopt full-duplex
                media 10baseT
        inet 192.168.6.199 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.6.255

	I notice the problem card also tried to enable the 10baseT
	port immediately.

	I've given up hope on anyone having a chance to look into this,
	but is there anyone who could give me a pointer on where to
	start looking to try to track this down?
