The 436 can do PNP, and in fact is showing up with a PNP entry. :-)

I admit that the thing came in "Plug'N'Run" (PNR) mode, where it was
hard-wired down by configuration software. I snipped a jumper on the
board, and now it's in PNP mode. ;-)
