'man printcap'.
To start the print service you just need to kill and restart lpd.

Here is an example of /etc/printcap (all printers remote, print server
is the host called 'hera'):
Milou:\
        :lp=:rm=hera:rp=Milou:sd=/var/spool/lpd/Milou:mx#0:
Idefix:\
	:lp=:rm=hera:rp=Idefix:sd=/var/spool/lpd/Idefix:
Rantanplan:\
	:lp=:rm=hera:rp=Rantanplan:sd=/var/spool/lpd/Rantanplan:
