It is. So it output... a bit of fillding with xmmix and xwave got
sound output working. Recording works too but...

I'm using amplified speakers - with the speaker vol up to 90%, and
with the mixer Vol at 80-90% I can hear the sounds etc that
appletviwer plays and I can load those .au files into xwave and play
them - again volume is not too high.

When it comes to recording though, I need the Mic Vol at 100% and the
Input Gain high (70-80%) before I can actually get enough signal that
is audible on play back.

And then the applitude of the recorded signal is only about 10% of the
pre-recorded sound files I'm playing with.

Even more worrying is that the Mic seems to feed straight through to
the speakers! A slight bump of the mic gets a nice loud bang out of
the speakers, if I am recording at the same time, the signal amplitude
looks a bit more healthy but when I replay it it is still pretty lame.

So the basic hardware is functioning, but I'd guess the card or
something is not setup right.

If anyone has one of these AWE64 cards and a clue - let me know :-)
