There are links to some documentation from the NetBSD home page
(http://www.netbsd.org/). One is the BSD FAQ:

http://cynjut.neonramp.com/index.html

and others can be found at http://www.netbsd.org/FAQ/index.html and so on.
Just go to the home page and have a look around "doumentation".

A book would almost certainly be a good idea as well, but I've never used
one so somebody else will have to recommend that. :)
