No. It's working well (I run NetBSD on a PII since January 1997 without
any problems). And it's realy fast. There's no 16bit or 8bit code involved
in normal operation of NetBSD, so of course it doesn't suffer from any
performance degrations in that code.

P.S.: for the pedantic type: there is 8bit code involved in booting and at
      very few places for bios trampolines, i.e. when turning APM power of
      after shutting down the system. None of this will affect your everyday
      performance.
