Hello,

I have 2 questions I wonder if anyone could help me with:

1. I have installed NetSBD successfully. I am now trying to verify that I =
can talk to the modem before attempting to set up ppp. I run cu -l =
/dev/tty01 which should be the port it exists on (com2) but as soon as I =
type something I get an error about not being able to write to the port. I =
am running this as root, so that oughtn't be a problem. Sorry for the =
vague error message - my machine is at home. Could anyone tell me how to =
get cu working.

As an aside as well, the pppd manual page talks about the /etc/ppp =
directory. This doesn't seem to exists by default. Should I just create my =
own directory ?

2. Has anyone run XFree86 with two monitors? I have 2 Matrox Millenium I =
cards which run under NT acceptably. I can't seem to work out how to =
configure the X server for both screens/displays (I can't remember what =
the X terminology is). The kernel reports both cards at boot time.

Another aside as well:

The install has been much improved since the last time I used it. However =
a simple enhancement to make it easier for new users would be to provide =
the amount of space taken up in / and /usr by a default full installation =
so when the user choses partition sizes they can do so knowing how much is =
required.

Personally, I installed once with the standard options and then =
reinstalled from scratch once I knew how much space was taken up. Just a =
thought.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
david
