Hi.

My NetBSD-1.3/i386 system has a 3Com 3c509 ethernet card,
which the hardware probe determines to be at irq 3.
irq 3 is shared with com1.  When the newly installed NetBSD
boots from the hard disk and runs "ttyflags -a" in /etc/rc,
if sets stty for tty01 which seems to freeze the network card.
Before ttyflags runs, pinging the broadcast address returns
many rplies.  After ttyflags sets tty01, pinging the broadcast
address returns only the local system.

I could be wrong, but I thought it used to be okay for devices
to share irq?  Was that never the case or have things changed?
