Do you have:
mii* at tl?
tlphy* at mii?
nsphy* at mii?
In your config file ? The thunderlan has an 'MII bus' (MII stands for media
independant interface), which is a normalised communication bus between the
ethernet controller and the different adapters for physical medias (PHYs).
There can be up to 32 PHYs on a MII bus. These lines in the config file
reflects the hardware architecture.
