Errrr.  Calling the rom ... 
Well, lets be carefull where this path leads us.  I'd hate to see
all IO go thru bios 8-).  (On the otherhand, this would probably
solve the disk geometry problems ;-)

I am also sad that things like apm have to be done via BIOS -- I'm 
just old fashioned.
