I'll try this again with the boot floppy from the recently announced
snapshot, but today I booted a PC with a 971112 1.3_ALPHA boot floppy.

Early in the probing it found ep0 and gave it irq 11

right at the end it found ep1 and gave it irq 5

then I noticed that the mac address was the same, and I'm assured that
there is only one ethernet card in it.

Attemtping to ifconfig ep0 hung the machine,
ifconfig ep1 worked ok.
