Eric, I think you have a great idea here with the recommended hardware list,
though we have that in some form already in the install documents.  What I
think we really need is the following:

- Supported hardware list, with required device settings and some minor
comments on performance of various devices;

- Unsupported, but requested hardware list, with contact info on people
interested in doing development if the hardware were available to them; *

- Conflict notes: what devices don't work well with others, whether
defeating each other or generally causing prformance problems.

* This is the big one that we only have a minor grasp on.  In the web page
notes of many ports, you'll find "Hardware we don't yet support, but get
many questions about:".  If there's demand, and hungry programmers (no,
those really exist), we need a way to make good on desired projects.

How any times did people ask if the EtherExpress PRO/100B card was supported
before someone finally went and ported (wrote?) one for NetBSD?  I was one
of the ones who asked way back when.  :) 

But speaking of projects, when was the last time the NetBSD projects web
page was _really_ used and updated?  That thing is, like, old.
