Yes. That's why I said `IF' the fix works. I wanted to be *absolutely*
sure this really isn't a problem with old 3c589s and the large-packet
support auto-detect code in the current driver.

If the patch I suggested doesnt solve the problem, then there *is* no
problem with old 3c589s, and it's probably an address-decoding
problem, as we both suspect.
