The Cyrix 6x86 is a Pentium-alike CPU and has not much in common with the
i486 - no more than a regular Pentium has. It has also Pentium commands
and similar pipeline behaviour. Only the branch prediction is better
and faster, which gives the 6x86 a sligth advantage. The 6x86 is also
pin-compatible to the Pentium.

 The 5x86 is i486-alike.

The Cyrix yx86 clones are based on a risc core, which emulate the targetted
CPU. Which you may have gotten as "486 core".
