It would seem that a number of the older cheap IBM computers would seem to
have used a wierd UMC IDE controller.  The FreeBSD IDE device driver seems
to understand how to talk to it, but the NetBSD driver doesn't like it at
all.  I think your only hope would be to use a third party IDE card.

Most (if not all) of the onboard devices can be easily disabled through
the BIOS on your PS/1.
