It is a computer that I have put together myself with various parts. It
contains a 'VL-Bus ISA-486SV2B Mainboard'. I have an integrated IDE
controller with the first two com-ports (for which I have forgotten
the brand). I also have 2 extra com-ports (MP451), but the loop starts
already at the first com port (com 0).

Any ideas to how I can debug this? I suspect the card is not properly 
initialized, but I have no idea of how to check this. I do not know
i386 assembly, but I may have to learn some ;)

Maybe I should check the old com.c (1.2), and compare it to the new one.
It shouldn't be to difficult to figure out what is going on here. Too bad
that I have to reboot for each little change in the code...
