I use 16port Cyclades card with Jukka Marin's driver 
(http://www.jmp.fi/~jmarin/cy-new.tar.gz) under 1.2. Saving past traffic
and more can be done with "screen" (found at places with GNU SW).
They have 32 port cards too. Special cable is needed for full hardware
rtscts - I have not tried though.
