try this..  
cd /usr/X11R6/bin   (i assume thats where its all at)
rm X
ln -s XF86_MACH64 X

You need to link the xf86_mach64 server to the file X  startx runs X, 
and is still running the wrong server i believe.  

Just a bynote though.. if it thinks you are runing netbsd 1.0, and 
like you say, you indeed are not..  I would suspect that your version 
of X11 is somewhat dated at best.
