Further study reveals that the system's power management capabilities
are recognized, but that apparently, once the system decides to blank
the screen, it is never told to unblank.  Since I'm running this box
with 4 telnet-capable machines on a LAN with it, this isn't as bad as
it could be, but I'm thinking I should try to do something about it.
