FWIW, I use doscmd somewhat regularly.  (e.g.  Just yesterday I used
it to run ARJ and EXPAND to extract some files I needed from DOS
floppy images.)  However, it does have some critical deficiencies.  If
someone wants to work on it, I'd be happy to discuss it with them.
