  Sorry about the noise.  I tried a few more things, and
everything started working fine.  Then I went back to what used
to not work, built a new kernel, and everything was still fine.
Very weird.  So the IRQ5 not working part of my earlier message
was bogus.

  However, I'd still like some info on my second and third
questions (two serial ports sharing one IRQ, and no-IRQ serial
ports).
