"Welcome to the wonderful world of ELF lossage!"  For all of ELF's
neat things, this inability to distingish between OSs is ... well,
by far its lamest quality (and it's Really Lame).

There's currently a hueristic used to to detect Linux binaries, by
searching for the signature left by GCC.  If that signature is not
present, well...
