You still have the situation where it may be possible to see other
devices (which might need the information) before you see the
chip (hba) that provides it.


(quite honestly, i'm not so keen on the way intel did their PCI host
bus bridge interfaces, but wonderful design is what i've come to
expect from them by now... 8-)
