Well, given that the OpenBSD folks have adopted the ports collection
also, wouldn't it make sense to adopt it as a loose standard?  I think
we've proven that the concepts pretty much works, and even with over
550 ports now it's still quite maintainable.  Not to toot my own horn
or anything here, it just seems the logical thing to do.
