I just checked an Ultrix manpage, and the text is identical.
The only difference is the standard Ultrix substitution of "Restrictions"
for "Bugs".

That's solid proof the 1024-byte limit dates back to at least 4.2bsd,
since that's what  Ultrix was based on.

IIRC, 4.2bsd was released in 1984.  Mmm, a  12-year-old  vintage...
