Yep.  Linux-users here report the same thing, as measured by
wall-times for "large" C and C++ compiles, on machines with 64Mbytes.
That's with a slower networking stack (as measured by ttcp) and with
NFSv2.  NFSv3 feels faster; I haven't rerun the Andrew benchmarks or
Diane Tang's benchmark suite (to which I have access.)
