Speaking of the Gravis Ultrasound...
I've got a GUS with the 16 bit recording daughtercard, the combination
seems to cancel out the possibility of full duplex playback and recording.
As far as I know the daughtercard's codec is used instead of the one on
the gus, and there's only one DMA address for both playback and recording.
The non-daughtercard drivers allow the selection of separate DMA
addresses, but seem to freeze windows when used with the daughtercard
attached. I wonder if this complication holds true for the NetBSD gus
driver or if the gus can be used for full duplex even when the 16-bit
recording daughtercard is attached...
Then again, what Internet Phone type applications are available for NetBSD
anyways?
