Well, a while back I inquired about the possibility of doing a driver that
could provide more low-level access to the parallel port.  However, the
device I wanted to access was an oscilloscope.

I think the hard part about integrating zip drives, tape drives, etc etc,
is figuring out the protocol you need to speak.  In the case of the
oscilloscope I was talking about, you could buy the Visual Basic source to
the UI and I was planning on figuring out the protocol from that.  I
don't think the same option is available for the zip drives.
