I had just downloaded V1.2 (current) source for the first time. I had
always been happy with V1.1 until then, and had little time to work on
-current this round. I copied my normal V1.1 config file (NCTI20) to
NCTI20_V1.2, cleaned it up for the new V1.2 (current) mainbus0 changes,
and did my compile, so that directory never existed before that.

Thank you for the response, the first so far. I am waiting eagerly for
more ;-)
