I've seen it on ASUS PCI/I-486-SP3G and PCI-P54TP4XE motherboards.
Apparantly FreeBSD and Linux do the same thing (according to my
friends who run these).

Maybe it's the super-I/O ASIC that does 2x16550/lpt/FD/WD that these
boards use.
