I have never heard of it nor seen anything like this.
The fontloading procedure is quite generic, so i don't see why this should
fail on a VGA compatible card. All i can do is to ask you to debug this
and send in a fix, or to send me the board so i can fix it ... ;-)
I suspect there is some sort of timing problem in the fontloading procedure
for your hardware - it seems your board needs more time after an access to
the font video ram.
The pcvt in -current is already the recent one, and the other (minor) fixes
i have got so far have nothing to do with this problem.
