At work, we have a couple of DELL 486 EISA PC's with a mystery EISA
ethernet card. I'd like to run NetBSD on one of these machines and
would prefer to avoid buying a new ethernet board if at all possible..
Anyhow, the board is a full-length EISA board with a large number of
chips on it and both AUI and thinnet connectors; there's no obvious
part number markings on it, but the word "intel" is embossed in the
metal near the connectors.
According to the EISA configuriation utility, it's an "NE3200". It
may be capable of bus-mastering DMA
The card may also be referred to as an Intel EtherExpress 32.
Does anyone know of a NetBSD driver for this device? There doesn't
seem to be one, but I don't know a heck of a lot about EISA boxes.
Heck, even a FreeBSD or Linux driver would be a start..
Am I better off just buying a cheap ISA ethernet card for this box?
Thanks in advance for any assistance on this.
- Bill
