Hi there.

Is there anyone who runs NetBSD and XFree86
on an IBM 755CX series laptop? We can't get
the mouse (i.e TrackPoint) to work.

It doesn't respond at all. Nothing happens,
very annoying...

We tried FreeBSD first and then the TrackPoint
worked without any problems.

dmesg says:

kbdid, response 2 = [84]
vt0 at isa0 port 0x60-0x6f irq1: generic, 80 col,\
color, 8 scr, unknown kbd, [R 3.00]
pms0 at isa0 port 0x60-0x67 irq 12

and in XF86Config:

Protocol	"Busmouse"
Device "/dev/pms0"

and we also tried:

Protocol	"PS/2"
Device "/dev/pms0"

The /dev/entry for pms0 reads

crw------- 1 root wheel	37,	0 Sep 26 10:33 pms0

Does anyone have any experience with IBM ThinkPads
of the 755CX series? Are we the only ones with these
problems? Any clues?
