Did you try setting your DISPLAY variable to the numeric (non-DNS'd) address?

An example (for me) would be "export DISPLAY=129.130.89.26:0.0"

It's a known bug (feature?) that WP/SunOS doesn't do DNS lookups for things
such as this.  Netscape (Netscape/SunOS at least) has also started releasing
two binaries, one that behaves like this, and one that behaves "normally".

disclaimer:  I haven't tried the WP 6.0 demo on NetBSD due to limited real
             memory, and haven't installed the latest-and-greatest (v1.1N)
             Netscape/BSD due to time.

This is a little off of the NetBSD-path, but slightly related (we are talking
about compat, right?)
