Hi--I'm looking for some help since I'm not too familiar with PC
hardware or, in a hands-on sense, NetBSD/x86 stuff...

I'm attempting to install a -current system at work. I booted fine
with the 1.0 boot floppies and installed 1.0.

Then I downloaded the tarballs from Friday and built and installed both
config.new and gas. Finally, I ran config.new on GENERIC and built it.
When I tried to reboot with it, though, it mis-identified my system as
having sea0 and I got a bunch of errors ("mcd0: got extra byte 0x40
during getstatus", I think) that kept scrolling until I hit the power
switch. My machine doesn't have an mcd unit. Here's what I've got:

	Gateway 2000 486/33
	16MB RAM
1 202MB IDE disk and adapter
	1 3.5" floppy
	1 8013EP ethernet adapter
	1 Hercules mono video

Here's the dmesg output from a working 1.0 kernel:

The ed2 is also showing up with an irq mismatch on the -current
kernel--it's saying that the kernel is configured for IRQ 10 and the
board is at 9, but it's working fine at 10 under 1.0. I need to do
a cold boot to reset the ethernet card after this happens.

I'm in the process of compiling a much trimmed version of GENERIC to see
if that helps.

Any other suggestions?

Pax,
-allen
