Just for the Heck of it:
NE2000 16-bit ISA GVC clone (ed0) 386 DX-40  on non-busy WAN (Christmas 
Holiday)

 (reedb.rhn.orst.edu (386) <-> marvin.che.orst.edu (Sparc-10) )

 600k/sec (both ways) (sustained)

normal rate (busy)
~300k/sec (sustained)

Both machines had basically no load at the time.
