I don't know :D My short experience with Jornada and battery life is
that with my style of using jornada I never run out of all power. And
if you need long battery life then try to find battery unit from
Jornada 728 (should last for about 14h of work) or try finding
expanded battery unit (abut 24h).

First you should try using keymaps from hpcboot and then set LC_ALL
and LC_LANG for your language. But I'm not sure what excatly you would
like to achive.
