Hi,

I have just got the kernel to boot only, access via the serial port. The
HP54x is only barely supported it appears, it is not usable, unless you
like to hack the kernel. If you do, download hpcboot from
http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/syssrc/sys/arch/hpc/stand/binary/SH3/,
then download the file
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/hpcsh/snapshot/20010324-miniroot.fs
then download the file
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/hpcsh/snapshot/20010325-netbsd.gz
and use them with hpcboot. Don't use the latest snapshop kernel, it
looks like it actually wants to use the screen, and since we are using
unsupported hardware, the kernel panics, and stops.

Make sure the serial console is 19200, you need the HP Serial cable that
might not have come with your machine. Tell hpcboot that your machine is
a HP690 or HP680.

Ross..
