- my US$0.02:

- because Hector Peraza's xclass libs port easily to NetBSD, my Z50 can
be used for direct serial I/O control of my high-frequency radio
receiver, a Ten Tec RX320, and HF transceiver, a Ten Tec Argonaut V...
a CF interface in a PCMCIA carrier is used... conversely, i can use my
Z50 as a wireless controller (using X) for the communications equipment
when the receiver or transceiver is attached to a remote PC on my
LAN... a D-Link DWL-650 PCMCIA card is used...

- another benefit of the Z50 is that even if the LiIon batteries die
and are no longer manufactured, you can use the 8 AA battery carrier
for a portable power source (or suitable gel cell, etc.)
