No joy with that config. Worth a try up front. Will build the
environment up over the next couple of weeks as and when I get
the time. The nice thing to note is that if everything goes
horribly wrong you can always do a hardware reset. It's easy
to restore a backup if you really care about the state of the
machine (not in my case).

First off, when trying to find into about mips based PDA, I have what

It appears taht the FEX21 came along after I made the list. The husky
I have on there looks like a rebadged Nino. However, yours sounds
more interesting. It looks a lot like the Mobilon Pro PV-5000 from
its specs.
