I doubt it. I actually do suspect the Linux box ;-)

I've been using NFS via IPSEC-encrypted WLAN from my hpcmips machine
(IBM z50) to build packages in nfs-mounted pkgsrc without any
trouble. I do even have it swap over NFS sometimes.
