I'm rather fond of FVWM myself; but mostly because of long use and the fact
that I have a config that works perfectly for me. :)
Matchbox, Ratpoison, Ion, and Larswm are all ones you should look into. If
you want something a bit more conventional, I'd recommend Pekwm. I'm
becoming rather fond of it in some ways, and I just need to take the time to
learn how to configure/theme it to my preferences.
