GPE might be feasible as it is based on X11 and a stripped-down version
of GTK. But GPE is not overly developed/end-user ready at the moment.

While Opie on the other hand is very usable, it runs not on X, but on the Linux framebuffer
devic . Unless somebody implements a Linux-compatible framebuffer device
(i.e. kernel-level graphical console) for NetBSD, Opie [or Qtopia, on
which it is based] won't run.
