Ummm, nice try.  Didn't work.

ktrace doesn't even show that XF86 anything.

The interesting thing is that there's an open failure for
	/dev/tty/\xb0^Z^D^P^C
which tells me that I have something wrong with my utmp.  w also
whines.  Hmmm.  I wonder how to fix that.
