OK. Maybe I did something wrong....

I can't seem to get X working with the April 2001 snapshot that's on
ftp.netbsd.org. I also tried building a new kernel from sources
checked out Wednesday.

I built the disk for this machine my just taring off all the tarballs
that were on the ftp site, and then making devices , creating
/etc/fstab and /etc/rc.conf and fixign /var/tmp and /tmp permissions.
Maybe that's my problem. :-)

With both kernels I get the same problem: No screens found. This is
both as my normal user ID (imp) and as root.

I have a NEC MobileGear II R/430 (same as the NEC MobilePro 780,
without the VGA option) with 32M of RAM. I'm booting off a IBM
1G microdrive (which I like very much).

Enclosed please find the dmesg from my machine for the new kernel. I
didn't save the dmesg from the old kernel. To my untrained eye, all
the video devices are there as are the keyboard and mouse.

On a related note, is it possible to have multiple, virtual consoles?

Warner
