Folks,

While I remember, there's an integer mp3 decoder available called MAD
which should work well on non-FP mips based machines - I've been using
it on an FP-less arm32 box for a month or so now and am very happy with
it. I'm not sure of the audio capabilities of the hpcmips machines,
but this might be worth looking into. I've made a package of it under
pkgsrc/audio/madplay.

I'd be curious to see how it works for hpcmips boxes - please post any
stories (successful or not!) to the list.

Cheers,
Simon.
